new year's eve

New Year's Eve 2011
New Year's Eve is usually my favorite holiday - no pressure for gifts, just a gathering of friends to celebrate new beginnings. This was our 10th year (!!!) celebrating with this group and we hosted a low key dinner party at our house.

December had me exhausted, so it was a last minute affair, but once I strung up some homemade metallic star garlands, the place felt festive.

I think my house should be decorated with star garlands year round!

This is unrelated, but I LOVE that orange in your kitchen. And the deep blue in your family room. Just lovely and fresh and modern. I'm going to invite myself over for some design inspiration!

Thanks, Sarah! Hopefully the orange walls distract you from the disaster of pots and pans in the kitchen! I can't seem to entertain without making a giant mess!
