coming soon: pile of craft and artscape!

On Saturday night after we got home from Crafty Balboa April Showers, Larry turned to me and asked, "What's next?"

"Nothing", I responded. Obviously, that's a lie. I have lots of plans for Funnelcloud Studio in the coming months, but what I meant was that I had no more confirmed art markets on the calendar. I'd applied to several more, but hadn't heard anything back yet.

Honestly, I needed a breather. I'm planning on revamping the shop - changing the look, creating some new pieces, and changing direction, and I really needed a break and a clear calendar. I also need a block of time to renovate my studio. We've got a vacation scheduled for the end of May and I was looking forward to a month to work without any pressure, punctuated by a trip to the beach.

On Sunday, I jotted down a To Do List for Funnelcloud Studio for the coming months. Then I took a break, drank a beer, and cooked a fabulous dinner with Larry.
On Monday, I got accepted to Charm City Craft Mafia's Pile of Craft.
On Tuesday, I got accepted to ArtScape.

Holy shiitakes!

I'm still in shock and am thrilled to be a part of both of these amazing shows. It is going to be a busy summer! Pile of Craft is at the same location that Holiday Heap was in December and it is a great venue run by a great group of artists. ArtScape is the biggest free art festival in the country. This is a three-day event with an expected 350,000 visitors. There are 150 art vendors, plus concerts, performance artists, and an art car parade! Honestly, I applied to ArtScape on a whim thinking there was no way I was ready for such a huge event and that I didn't have a chance of getting accepted. I'm running with the big dogs now, people. Here goes...!

So mark your calendars, art market season is in full effect:

June 16 - Charm City Craft Mafia's Pile of Craft (Baltimore, MD)
July 20-22 - ArtScape (Baltimore, MD)
