dear brain, explain yourself...

Dreams I have had in the last month:
1. My house caught on fire and I was panicking and trying to rescue the dogs from the blaze.
2. I was in a skyscraper that was hit by a tornado. People were jumping off the roofs of neighboring buildings.
3. We got to our rental beach house and there was a deer and a grizzly bear inside. The owner of the house came and slaughtered the deer for dinner.
4. My mom was working at a health fair with Joey Lawrence.
(One of these is not like the others!)

WTF. How can the same brain that conjures up natural disasters in my sleep also insert teen stars from the 90s into my subconscious???

P.S. Whoa!

lost in translation?

protecting feral animal
Larry brought me back this bag from his trip to Central Asia - he knew I would get a kick out of it. I have always been a supporter of wildlife conservation, but I think I am an even stronger proponent of PROTECTING FERAL ANIMAL.

just another day at the post office

DSC_1040 ES
As I was waiting in line at the post office the other day to mail some shop orders, I remembered a conversation I had with the postal worker the day of my first sale.

I handed over my package to be weighed, and which listed Funnelcloud Studio as the return address.

Postal Worker: You got some tornadoes and hurricanes in there???

It actually took me a second to figure out what he was talking about - fortunately, I realized he was referring to the return address instead of blurting out "No...just art."

(almost) carded

So I got the following message when going through the self-check out at Home Depot today:

STOP and show ID to Cashier.

What was I buying?

Spray paint.

I didn't actually end up getting carded. In fact, what was even more irritating than the delay in checking out was when the teenage cashier apologized "Sorry about that Ma'am." Dude, first they want to see ID to buy paint and then I get MA'AMed by a teenager.

Still...I ALMOST got carded for buying SPRAY PAINT.

Now that I've got my stash home, I've got to decide whether I'm going to huff the fumes or tag the buildings in downtown Falls Church...
